BCP Business Support – Build year-round visitor business

BCP Council has been awarded funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver a programme of activity to grow the number of year-round visitors to the area. The programme builds on the visitor research undertaken by BAHA (BH Area Hospitality Association) last year. They identified two key growth markets for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole ‘Nature and Culture’ and ‘Active and Mindful’.

These free workshops will give businesses an introduction to these growth markets and help businesses to think about how they can develop their visitor experience to attract these visitors.

The workshops are part one of a programme of support that will also include 1-2-1 business support and a small grant scheme to help make changes to your business that meet the needs of these markets.  Businesses must attend the workshops to be eligible to apply for the 1-2-1 support and / or grants. Further details on these schemes will be shared at the workshops.

Places are limited to 30 per session and available on a first come first served basis.

Please take a look at the visitor research if you would like more information – these workshops will focus on the ‘Nature and Culture’ and ‘Active and Mindful’ segments as they were identified as key growth markets for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. As well as having interests relevant to the BCP product, they have shown a willingness to travel in the shoulder and off-peak months (October – May) and therefore present a significant opportunity to reduce the seasonality of the destination.
