Christchurch Businesses: How Victim Support Can Make a Difference
December 11, 2024Christchurch Conservative Club won two awards at the Club Mirror Awards in Leicester on Wednesday 27th November 2024 for Best Committee and the 100 Club.
The Best Committee Award was for supporting the Bar manager, Staff and our lovely members, for making our club a friendly and safe place to socialise for ladies, gentlemen and families.
Moving the club on with the times. This was shown by recently having solar panels fitted and making our club an environment-friendly zone. This was by having recycling bins for cardboard, glass and cans.
Each year, our chairman chooses a local charity that our club supports and this year is Macmillan Caring Locally. We support this by holding a charity night with auctions and raffles, darts competitions, and this year, we have produced a calendar for 2025 which includes members of the club who have been affected by cancer in one way or another, and these go on sale next Monday 9th December at £10 each. We have had a sponsor and donors from local businesses to fund the printing.
In May 2024 we celebrated our 100 years and had a great day organised for our members; this included fancy dress through the years and bands and different music to match the years. Then we had our eldest member, Doris, who at that time was 101 and she wore a crown and looked like royalty Doris cut the ribbon to open the event.
