About the event:

The 2024 event will be similar to previous High Street Festivals but with a smaller selection of businesses selling their food and drink offerings for customers to enjoy on the day or take home for later. There will be between 40 and 50 traders selling plenty of food and drink delights, alongside food court spaces to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, as well as live entertainment to soak up across the weekend.

Key facts:

The event will be held on the same weekend as the Christchurch Food Festival (located at Christchurch Quay). This food festival welcomes over 50,000 visitors to the town which provides an amazing opportunity for local Christchurch businesses to showcase their offerings along the High Street to a wider audience.

The Food Fest Local event will be held on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May from 10am. The plan is for the High Street to be closed on both Saturday and Sunday daytime from early on both mornings to allow traders to set up. This will be the same at close of each day when traders will need to pack down their stands for the evening.

Both food, drink, and food related products can be sold at the festival. Not a food or drink producer or seller? If you sell products that are related to food such as cookbooks or kitchen equipment/homeware then trading at the festival could work for you too!

Interested in trading at the event?

The High street will host 40 to 50 trade stands of different sizes starting from a 3×3 pitch.

Christchurch BID levy payers will be offered pitches at discounted rates and pitches are available on a first come first served basis.

BID levy members will have privileged access to the application process until January 7th.

After this date, the application process will be open to companies outside the BID area to ensure a full roster of pitches and deliver an outstanding event. Please make sure to secure your pitch reservation before January 7th to avoid any disappointment.

Pitch prices differ depending on the products you will be selling at the event and the size of pitch you would like to have.

As pitch prices vary depending on the size of your pitch and what you are selling from your stand, as you answer the questions in the booking form, the correct price for the stand you want will be shown.

Various sizes of pitches are available and location choices such as corner pitches. All traders will be required to have commercial grade gazebos to comply with the event management plan stipulations alongside public liability insurance and full risk assessments.

The High Street will be closed on both days of the event but will be reopened on Saturday evening as usual so all traders will be required to pack down on Saturday evening and set up on Sunday morning to begin trading again.
