We Need You! Volunteers needed – Food Fest Local Event

We are incredibly excited to share that on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2024, Christchurch BID will be hosting the very first Food Fest Local along the high street.

Complementing the Christchurch Food Festival held down on the quay, we want to celebrate our amazing town centre businesses and the wonderful food offer that we have locally to all the visitors who come to experience the town over the bank holiday weekend.

In order to do this, we need your help!

We are looking for volunteers to help us over the weekend so that we can run the event safely. We need stewards to help assist visitors throughout the day and particularly in the unlikely event of an emergency, directing them on where to go and the best ways to get around the town, support with litter picking to keep the town looking lovely, alongside supporting the event management team to make sure everything runs smoothly over the weekend.

Please don’t worry if you haven’t done anything like this before, as full training will be provided. This training session will be held on Wednesday 22nd May from 6pm – 8pm at The Thomas Tripp on Wick Lane, Christchurch, light refreshments will be provided.

Volunteer shifts are planned throughout the day and each shift is approximately 3 hours in length starting at 9am on both days.

We are hugely grateful for any support that is offered, as events like this simply aren’t possible without the time and effort put in by volunteers.

As a thank you, we are able to offer a subsistence allowance of £5 (drinking water will be provided) for each shift undertaken – and we can promise you a huge range of fantastic food stalls to choose from when you’re deciding where to spend it!
