The historic Christchurch Priory is set to come to life in a stunning display of light and
colour on Saturday 6th May at 9pm.
In honour of coronation of King Charles, the display will be a breath-taking celebration
of this historic event, using the latest technology to create stunning visual effects that
will illuminate the iconic Priory.
Following on from the hugely successful projection mapping of the Normal Ruins at
Christchurch’s Arts by the Sea event in October 2022, the Christchurch Coronation Light
Display promises to enchant and amaze. This is the first time Christchurch Priory has
been used in this way, as a backdrop for visual art.
Starting at 9pm on Saturday 6th May, the free event is brought together by local
projection mapping specialists Light Art Creatives, whose awe-inspiring work has been
used across the south coast in festive and celebratory events, and Event Temps, an
event and hospitality agency.
The event is even more special as the King’s coronation will have an emphasis on
“Lighting up the Nation” with a variety of events across the UK featuring projections,
lasers, drone displays and illuminations.
The event takes place from 9pm on Saturday 6th May, at the main entrance of
Christchurch Priory. There are no tickets, attendees can just turn up on the evening.
